Mitsubishi expects sales in Russia to decrease 12.4% in 2020

MOSCOW, Jan 21 (PRIME) -- Mitsubishi expects Russian sales to fall by 12.4% to about 35,000 in 2020, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

“The car market demonstrated a 2.3% decline in 2019. But looking at dynamics of the segments, we can see that the sales of compact and mid-sized crossovers continued to rise,” CEO of Mitsubishi in Russia Osamu Iwaba said, as cited in the statement.

“These segments will continue to demonstrate positive dynamics in the future. We set 35,000 new cars as the sales target in 2020.”

The official said that the company included growth of the recycling fee in Russia in the estimate.

Upgrade of the dealer network, the start of cooperation with Yandex, and the launch of ASX and Pajero Sport are seen as the key goals of Mitsubishi in Russia in 2020, the company said.
